Yagan Square

Ramus Illumination were engaged by the MRA & Lyons Architects to design the feature lighting concept in Perth’s newest public open space and entertainment precinct, Yagan Square. Light Application, in conjunction with electrical contractors TES Electrical, successfully won a highly competitive tender process to then design, supply and commission of one of the largest LED installations in Australia.

Approximately 24,000 RGB individually addressable LED nodes have been installed on both the underside and top of the two canopies in the amphitheater area, with another 2000 installed in the “reeds” above the Digital Tower.

Philips Color Kinetics iColor Flex LMX and MX nodes were chosen due to their high reliability and long life expectancy.

Light Application’s customer service has been excellent to the MRA, often working to short time frames to deliver complex solutions in a demanding public open space environment. They have remained responsive and engaged as our lighting capacity and designs have evolved over time to suit different themes and events.

Adam has always been very reliable, professional, enthusiastic and most importantly passionate in making our lighting patterns and designs happen to a high standard, including testing sessions in the rain and getting on roofs to make things happen– couldn’t recommend him enough. Adam has also been responsive to our needs for special programming and custom site theming to work in with different events.
