Rockingham Foreshore Revitalisation

The Rockingham Foreshore Revitalisation project contains a mixture of functional and architectural lighting interfaced with an intelligent lighting control system (ILCS).

The system is comprised of a Dynalite Control System for all functional lighting, a Pharos DMX Control System for all architectural lighting, and the Dynalite System Manager Software for all end user scheduling and maintenance reports. The ILCS allows for advanced facilities management and reporting, dynamic engagement of the public (through coloured lighting features) and an autonomous/simple to use system.

The functional lighting contains built in time schedules meaning the lights automatically turn on just before sunset and switch off just after sunrise. The Beach Plaza and Boardwalk has additional lighting scenes to allow for the light level to be adjusted for specific event requirements. For example, the lights can be dimmed for firework shows and when the gobo projectors are in use.

The architectural lighting has two main features -the three Eats Structures and the Beach Plaza. The foreshore has been programmed with a default show that has minimal end-user interaction, still allowing for manual or scheduled events and colours. The end user can pre-schedule event lighting through the Dynalite Control System Manager or utilise the touchscreen onsite. Martin Exterior Gobo Projector 500 projectors have been scheduled to display different images with a five-minute run time, every half hour from 6pm - 9pm. Gobo animation speed is programmed to match the speed of the wind sensors installed onsite.

Light Application is excited to have worked with ETC Consultants, ERG Electrics and the City of Rockingham to bring the new foreshore to life!
