North Perth Common Public Artwork

Artists Shavaurn Hanson and Stephen Pennock needed maximum bang for buck on this artwork suspended at the intersection of View and Fitzgerald street in North Perth.

Light Application worked with Stephen and Shavaurn and coordinated closely with fabricators DENMAC to illuminate these circular halos.

The centre of each of the three rings is covered with a frosted polycarbonate diffuser, behind which is installed pureLED Flexi Addressable RGB strip lighting. This addressable strip allows for full colour animated effects to move fluidly around the inside edge of each ring.

A pair of Martin Exterior Projection 500 gobo projectors, extend the imagery to ground level, projecting custom imagery provided by the artists onto the street below, aligned with the centre of each of the two largest rings.

Control is handled by the cost-effective, but very powerful Color Kinetics iPlayer 3, and a range of different colour sequences and patterns are scheduled throughout the year to celebrate special community events.
