| Borne out of a seemingly innocent comment "Wouldn't it be handy to have a house that could move?", the 50+tonne Everingham Rotating House is the result of thousands of hours of research and development and a dedication to the integrity of a design based on ecologically sound building principles. www.everinghamrotatinghouse.com.au Luke Everingham, the man behind the design and its fruition, wanted a house that must be highly functional and energy efficient; require very little maintenance; be white ant proof and must allow the occupants to maximise weather conditions, seasonal changes and the outstanding 360 degree views on this rural property located in the NSW bush. Dynalite became involved in the project when Luke decided to include some basic lighting control in his home. After discussing project requirements and parameters, it became obvious that, in addition to the new Revolution series wall mounted user control panels, the homeowners would benefit from the use of a Dynalite touch screen to provide simple control of not only the lighting, but speed and rotational control for the home. Other features include motorised curtain control, HVAC control along with daylight and weather tracking utilising Dynalite’s dimmers, relay controllers and interfaces. The result has been nothing less than amazing, due to the simplicity and practicality of the design; a house that rotates 360 degrees - capable of following the sun to capitalise on it's winter warmth, avoiding the summer heat and allowing the owners to decide what view to look at next. The
Electrical consultants SKM put together a composite
D&C design brief for the overall 55,000 seat stadium complex,
which the Brisbane Electrical Contractor John Goss Projects
completed in late 2003. “After
reviewing a number of Lighting Control System’s, Dynalite
was chosen due to its proven performance and reliability, its adaptability
to meet with the projects special requirements and Dynalite’s
local engineering and ongoing 24 hour support. |
